He was walking lame. He was weak. His two hind legs were bent and creeping and his forelegs were trying to pull them and walk. The blackish brown weak tender body of the dog, I gazed. He was crossing the heavy traffic road with high speed vehicles and the heavy rush on road could have killed him. But it was same ordained destiny that had made him lame was saving him from being kicked and killed under speedy monsters.
I, at once got my eyes over the lame animal on road, as I was also trying to cross the road but feared the horrendous steel monsters. The lame creature on the road grabbed my attention, pushed my hearts beat up, when I saw him just at an inch of distance from the wheels of a rowdy vehicle. Ah! To the almighty’s grace he was saved and kept crawling bent on his weak legs.
His weakness, his difficulty to walk was obvious, they just struck to my eyes and my heart grew pity on him. My eyes got filled with moist questions. God! Why have you made such a dumb creature lame and week? His quietude and dumbness in itself is a curse and now you have made him lame too, leaving him into the hands of inhumanity to meet his fate and death.
I realized, he was being suffered because he is an animal. He was being ignored because he is an animal. He was being killed because he is an animal. A weak, numb and dumb animal! My heart grew filled with pity as a weak dumb animal was suffering and wandering like this for his survival. And we, to the least, I could not do nothing. In fact the truth is that we all have inculcated to show an anomalous behavior toward our animals. Yes we have! It is because in none of our interests and requirements of our daily lives they are needed now.
This is just one of the incidents that come across our eyes of ill treatment, ill behavior and attitude towards these animals. The hit and dead animals’ body lying and decaying on roads, pelting of stray animals like cows, dogs, cats, hungry animals feeding on dumps and garbage is quite common. Though we are responsible for their habitat less condition, making them wandering for food, shelter and safety, proudly pronounce them to be called as stray animals.
So many incidents keep coming across eyes and we all docile humans are learning to become dumb animals acquiring this inhuman behavior. A man is a social animal and has been allowed by almighty to live our lives along with beautiful nature bountiful diverse animals. But what we are living for is still to be realized, rendering the ecology of earth being poorly hindered.
- · Tigers being killed, is now being bemoaned with roars of Save! Them.
- · Sea creatures breaths are being diluted with concentrated profitable but oil spill mistakes.
- · Elephants being punished with death for their big Tusky show up.
- · Perching birds coming near home are being punished with shocking currents over their candid freedom behavior.
- · Reptile snakes are beaten to repent on their mistaken rattled entry in our homes.
- · Hungered wandering monkeys now are a part menace on our terrace and our land as they don’t know where to swing now.
- Who is harming whom is still a debate and who will save who will always be a question. Neither my pity could do anything to make them live and survive nor could reading of this concerned article bring a change in our attitude towards our animals. Only a step is needed to become again humans and realize importance of our ecological system, love, learn and respect it for every living creature without finding them as a hindrance in our fast growing urbanization and development.
Remember we need them and will always need them.
